Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • One year related experience and/or training
  • Ability to stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, talk or hear regularly
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl frequently
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to communicate effectively with residents and team members
  • Ability to follow instructions and safety protocols
  • Willingness to participate in trainings, in-service and mandatory meetings
  • Ability to comply with attendance and call off policies
  • Willingness to work as essential personnel during emergencies and/or inclement weather
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • Ability to write simple correspondence
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations

  • Equivalent combination of education and experience

Job Duties

  • Follows established cleaning schedule
  • Completes daily dusting, vacuuming, sweeping and mopping of all common areas
  • Follows established schedule for deep cleaning of resident rooms
  • Cleans administrative offices as scheduled
  • Cleans and sanitizes bathrooms
  • Cleans carpets and mops all floors upon request
  • Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly environment for all residents
  • Ensures and supports a dignified and caring atmosphere for residents, families, visitors, and associates
  • Responds promptly and courteously to resident's, families, and visitors requests for assistance
  • Speaks to/interacts with residents showing empathy, kindness, compassion, and respect
  • Communicates effectively in a language that each resident is capable of understanding
  • Maintains a safe and secure working environment free of objects/situations that could cause harm and/or falls to residents, families visitors and associates
  • Practices good body mechanics and safe working habits
  • Observes and reports safety hazards immediately to supervisor
  • Provides assistance to associates when requested or required
  • Knows, understands and follows established policy and procedures in emergency situations
  • Is considered essential personnel during emergencies and/or inclement weather
  • Works as a team player with other associates and management in accomplishing work assignments
  • Always demonstrates a positive and respectful attitude about work issues, policies and procedures
  • Complies with attendance and call off policy
  • Attends and/or participates in trainings, in-service and mandatory meetings
  • Wears clean and appropriate dress per established dress code policy
  • Refrains from discussing resident issues with families and visitors and refers all inquiries to immediate nursing supervisor
  • Knows, understands, and complies with HIPAA regulations
  • Provides hands-on assistance when requested or needed by nursing staff while working in the community
  • Participates in leisure activities provided to residents as described in the activity calendar
  • Serves and assist residents in the dining room at breakfast, lunch and dinner daily
  • Takes on special projects or assignments outside of regular duties willingly
  • Performs all other reasonable duties as assigned or as requested
