Job Requirements

  • Ability to follow established departmental policies and procedures
  • Capacity to maintain cleanliness standards
  • Knowledge of infection control procedures
  • Physical ability to perform cleaning duties including moving furniture
  • Ability to work evening shifts
  • Willingness to engage in ongoing training
  • Compliance with safety and environmental regulations

Job Duties

  • Maintains all areas according to departmental standards
  • Ensures proper infection control procedures when processing linen, trash, and medical waste
  • Demonstrates awareness of PI Program, Excellence in action, Competencies, Mission & Vision of PRMC
  • Dusts furniture, woodwork, and equipment
  • Mops floors and polishes fixtures in all areas
  • Operates housekeeping mechanical equipment
  • Moves furniture to facilitate cleaning procedures
  • Buffs, strips, waxes, and polishes floors
  • Removes waste and soiled linens from work area following proper protocols
  • Performs cleaning procedures of patient rooms including isolation rooms
  • Participates in educational programs and in-service meetings
