Job Requirements
- Must successfully complete all company specified training programs
- able to operate cleaning equipment such as iron, washer and dryer, brooms, mops, vacuums
- able to work various schedules and shifts as needed
- basic reading, writing, and mathematical skills
- communicate effectively in English with employees and residents
- general knowledge of sanitation
- strong organization and time management skills
- basic computer skills
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- ability to operate cleaning equipment such as irons, washers, dryers, brooms, mops, vacuums
- basic reading, writing, and mathematical skills
- effective communication in English with employees and residents
- general knowledge of sanitation principles
- strong organizational and time management skills
- basic computer skills
- previous housekeeping or custodial experience is a plus
Job Duties
- Clean public areas and resident apartments including bathrooms, kitchens, patios, windows, floors, furniture, and common areas
- perform all housekeeping duties including distributing laundered articles and linens, changing beds, cleaning public restrooms and replenishing supplies, sweeping, scrubbing, waxing, and polishing floors, cleaning rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies
- dust furniture and equipment
- polish metalwork
- wash walls, woodwork, windows, door panels, and sills
- perform all laundry duties including washing and drying resident laundry and textiles, folding or hanging laundry appropriately, distributing laundered articles and linens, changing bed linens
- maintain resident laundry areas including mopping floors, washing walls, and checking lint traps regularly
- wash windows at reasonable heights throughout the community as requested
- keep utility and storage rooms clean and orderly
- disinfect and sanitize equipment and supplies
- stock cleaning cart with supplies
- empty wastebaskets and transport trash to disposal areas
- work with maintenance to ensure trash and dumpster areas are clean
- request maintenance work orders for repair needs
- report resident issues or changes in health or living status promptly
- report unsafe conditions or maintenance issues to supervisor
- perform other duties as needed or assigned
