Job Requirements
- Related experience at a level necessary to accomplish the job
- ability to read, write and follow oral and written directions at a level necessary to accomplish the job
- ability to relate positively and favorably to residents and families and to work cooperatively with other employees
- must maintain regular attendance
- must meet all local health regulations and pass post-employment physical exam if required
- must pass drug screening, criminal background investigation and reference inquiry
- ability to walk, stand, reach, bend, crouch, grasp, climb, push, pull, and lift objects
- ability to work at a rapid pace for an entire shift
- ability to lift or move objects or equipment weighing up to 40 pounds regularly and move objects over 50 pounds
- ability to climb and maintain balance on ladders
- have finger and hand dexterity sufficient to operate equipment
- working understanding of English including reading, writing, understanding instructions, verbal communication, hearing and responding to pages
- ability to distinguish smells, tastes and temperatures
- ability to remain calm in emergency situations

Job Duties
- Clean rooms, offices, and common areas including vacuuming, wiping, mopping, and polishing
- polish and straighten items
- ensure residents' rooms are safe, comfortable, and maintained attractively
- clean up spills and soiled areas promptly
- ensure equipment and work areas are safe and adhere to procedures regarding cleaners and hazardous materials
- store equipment and supplies properly
- follow universal precautions, infection control, isolation, fire, safety, and sanitation practices
- report any hazardous conditions and equipment
- report all incidents and accidents
- ensure cleaning schedules are followed and coordinate daily housekeeping with other departments
- maintain equipment and supply carts and adequate supplies
- ensure proper lighting and assist others with lifting
- comply with all company safety policies and regulations
- assist in evacuation during emergencies
- meet general health requirements
- understand and promote residents' rights
- promote positive relationships with residents, visitors, and regulators
- adhere to code of conduct and business ethics
- participate in quality improvement activities
- perform other duties as assigned
- work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
