Job Requirements

  • Housekeeping experience in health care or commercial setting preferred
  • current and valid 2 step TB clearance and health review, which can be completed in-house
  • ability to adhere to infection control and safety guidelines
  • physical ability to perform cleaning duties, including lifting and bending
  • reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • prior housekeeping experience in healthcare or commercial setting preferred
  • knowledge of infection control standards
  • ability to follow detailed cleaning protocols
  • good physical stamina and ability to perform repetitive tasks
  • strong attention to detail
  • effective communication and teamwork skills

Job Duties

  • Ensures a clean, orderly, and safe place for residents and staff throughout the facility
  • follows infection control standards when collecting dirty linen and handling resident laundry
  • cleans and maintains resident rooms, common areas, and nursing stations
  • disposes of waste properly and maintains sanitary condition of cleaning equipment
  • reports any facility safety hazards or maintenance issues
  • collaborates with healthcare staff to meet specific resident hygiene needs
  • maintains adequate supplies of cleaning materials and notifies management when replenishment is necessary
