Job Requirements

  • high school graduate or equivalent
  • institutional housekeeping experience preferred
  • ability to read write and follow verbal and written instructions
  • ability to demonstrate correct use of work related chemicals supplies tools and equipment
  • ability to collaborate with others to provide optimal customer service
  • ability to lift and transport objects weighing up to 65lbs
  • ability to stoop bend walk and stand for extended periods
  • ability to work in all weather conditions
  • ability to work from a ladder
  • ability to push and move equipment and furniture
  • manual dexterity coordination and skillful use of hands when working with required equipment

Job Duties

  • perform routine cleaning of assigned areas using standard cleaning supplies and disinfectants
  • sanitize room contents for terminal cleaning upon resident discharge
  • clean apartments after resident move out or renovation in senior or assisted living settings
  • note and report maintenance needs, carpet staining, or damage to housekeeping supervision
  • move and relocate furniture, furnishings, and equipment for room changes or setups
  • handle initial room setup and breakdown for meetings, banquets, and classes
  • care for hard surface floors including dust mopping and damp mopping with proper safety signage
