Job Requirements
- 18 years of age
- Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States
- Must be able to obtain and maintain any other certification or license as required by law or policy
- Must be available for performing turndown service for evenings as needed
- Complete and record tasks using both electronic and paper tracking
- Must be able to work varied shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both spoken and written
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Must be able to push/pull loaded housekeeping cart with force of up to 37 ft./lbs
- Lift up to 44 pounds
- Carry up to 20 pounds
- Frequent and prolonged walking, kneeling, squatting, stooping, crouching and bending
- Bend more than 5 times per minute in an 8 hour work day
- Use and handle chemical cleaners in accordance with safety standards
- Move furniture and make beds including sofa beds
- Clean low surfaces such as bathtubs and baseboards
- Walk to various areas of property to access and clean guest suites, including climbing stairs
- Operate a commercial vacuum
- Work in a fast-paced and busy environment
- Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as noise, dust, and cigarette smoke
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Six months of related experience in housekeeping, professional cleaning, or exposure to the hospitality industry preferred
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both spoken and written
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members of different backgrounds and experience levels
Job Duties
- Clean guest suites by category priority including bathrooms, showers, tubs, sleeping, and general suite areas following all company and departmental policies and procedures
- Complete required suite cleaning credits daily
- Keep housekeeping cart clean at all times and well-stocked with clean linen and supplies
- Ensure linen is clean and up to standards by following the reject linen process
- Remove soil, dirt, soap build-up and hair from bathroom mirrors, vanity, sink, toilet, shower walls, bathtub, shower curtain and floor
- Replenish all paper products such as facial tissue, toilet tissue and/or bathroom amenities in correct amounts and locations
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas
- Replace soiled bed sheets and turn down beds
- set radio to designated station and volume
- refresh ice bucket, tray and glasses
- close drapes and shutters
- set lighting and thermostat to designated levels
- remove room service trays/tables/items from suite to elevator service landing
- Safely use cleaning chemicals and equipment in accordance with OSHA regulations and company and departmental policies, including use of personal protective equipment and safety practices
