Job Requirements
- Ability to speak and read English
- prior housekeeping experience preferred
- ability to follow written and oral directions
- ability to use standard cleaning equipment
- good physical health verified by health screening including chest x-ray or intradermal test
- valid First Aid card
- pass criminal record clearance
- ability to maintain cleanliness and safety standards
- flexibility in work schedule including holidays
- display sincere compassion towards older adults
- physical mobility to perform duties

Job Duties
- Clean all resident apartments, common areas and offices of the property
- ensure work/cleaning schedules are followed
- complete both resident personal laundry and community laundry
- iron resident laundry items as requested
- report all hazardous conditions or equipment
- remove trash and paper from all areas inside the facility
- maintain assigned work areas in clean, safe and attractive condition
- use appropriate protective equipment and supplies when handling infectious material
- follow proper techniques for mixing chemicals and disinfectants
- report missing or inappropriately labeled containers of hazardous chemicals
- ensure infection control and universal precautions practices are maintained
- clean bed and resident furniture upon resident transfer or discharge
- clean and stock housekeeping cart and place it in locked storage
- take mops and cleaning cloths to laundry at end of shift
- attend scheduled in-services
- demonstrate flexibility in work schedule
- support community marketing efforts through positive interaction
- communicate observed or suspected resident condition changes
- display tact and friendliness when dealing with residents, families and visitors
- maintain a safe and secure environment following safety standards
- encourage teamwork through cooperative interactions
- support a positive professional image through actions and dress
- perform other duties assigned by Maintenance or Executive Director
