Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior housekeeping or cleaning experience preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Ability to work flexible hours including day, evening, or night shifts
- Ability to follow safety precautions and infection control procedures
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must maintain patient confidentiality
- Ability to operate and maintain cleaning equipment
- Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions

Job Duties
- Perform routine cleaning of patient rooms, nursing units, offices, clinical areas, waiting areas, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, and corridors
- Utilize appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedure
- Use and maintain equipment properly
- Assist visitors with directions when requested
- Report safety hazards as appropriate
- Transport trash and hazardous waste to appropriate disposal area
- Replenish supplies
- Follow all infection control practices including hand washing techniques, standard precautions and isolation precautions
- Maintain set quality standards when performing job duties
- Work day, evening or night shifts as assigned
- Observe safety precautions at all times
- Clean and maintain carpet and tiled floors by using heavy equipment to clean, strip and wax floors on a rotating basis
- Cooperate with other personnel to achieve departmental objectives
- Participate in educational programs and in-service meetings
- Perform other duties as assigned
