Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- previous cleaning experience in a hospital setting preferred
- able to read and write
- ability to measure cleaning solutions
- alert to hazards
- ability to follow oral and written instructions
- use of common housecleaning implements such as mops, floor waxes, and scouring pads
- heavy physical effort with lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs
- prolonged standing and walking
- considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching
- able to work in precarious or high locations such as ladders or scaffolding
- must pass pre-employment requirements including I-9, physical, background and reference checks, complete application, new hire orientation, pre-employment PPDs
- compliance with mandated vaccinations and boosters

- physical ability to perform heavy lifting and extensive standing and walking
Job Duties
- Cleans assigned areas by washing furnishings and equipment and mopping floors with special cleaning solutions and disinfectants to prevent the spread of disease
- replenishes supplies of soap, towels, and other dispensable items
- gathers and disposes of trash, washes wastebaskets and large refuse containers, and relines with plastic bags
- uses damp, disinfectant-treated cloth and vacuum cleaner to dust windowsills, windows, blinds, floors, furniture, and equipment in an orderly fashion
- cleans and disinfects all fixtures, floors, mirrors, windows, doors and walls in bathroom
- maintains and submits orders to maintain an adequate inventory of cleaning supplies
- maintains established departmental policies and procedures, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards
- attends meetings as required and participates on committees as directed
- performs other related duties as assigned or requested
