Job Requirements

  • Stand or walk up to eight hours a day
  • Sit up to two hours a day
  • Frequently support up to 75 pounds
  • Occasionally lift or carry up to 50 pounds
  • Frequently kneel bend and reach
  • Secure assistance for transferring residents as needed
  • Adhere to proper body mechanics and safety measures

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of one year housekeeping experience preferred
  • Ability to read write and speak English
  • Desire to work with older adults
  • Friendly caring disposition
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must have a satisfactory criminal history check
  • Physical exam by licensed physician required
  • Negative drug screen required
  • Understand risk of exposure to infectious waste disease chemicals solutions and disinfectants
  • Ability to react in an emergency situation

Job Duties

  • Clean all common areas including guest restrooms according to schedule
  • Vacuum all carpeted areas
  • Dust furniture common area items handrails and hanging pictures
  • Clean glass surfaces
  • Clean doors doorways and walls of fingerprints or other dirt
  • Vacuum upholstery furniture according to schedule
  • Clean and disinfect common areas and public bathrooms
  • Mop common areas and bathrooms floors
  • Clean and disinfect soiled utility bins according to schedule
  • Clean and organize laundry areas and storage closets according to schedule
  • Clean residents room apartment according to schedule
  • Vacuum carpeted areas in residents rooms
  • Dust furniture in residents rooms
  • Clean and disinfect residents bathrooms
  • Respond to resident emergencies following proper policy and procedure
  • Offer choice maintain dignity and promote individuality for all residents
  • Maintain confidentiality of residents
  • Obtain continuing education and maintain CPR and First Aid certification
  • Report supply needs to Maintenance Director
  • Carry out other duties as assigned
  • Practice infection control policies and safety precautions
  • Ensure housekeeping cart and supplies are secured safely
  • Store hazardous cleaning products properly
  • Dispose of soiled linens according to standards
  • Report changes in residents condition and emergencies
  • Attend staff meetings and training sessions
  • Communicate effectively with residents supervisor and management
  • Notify supervisor or Wellness Director of resident condition changes and concerns
  • Respond to on the job injuries according to policies
  • Notify supervisor of concerns from residents family members
