Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in institutional cleaning preferred
  • Ability to perform routine and repetitive cleaning tasks
  • Effective communication in English
  • Ability to respond to emergencies
  • Visual ability to detect cleanliness
  • Ability to operate mechanical cleaning equipment
  • Physical capability to stand, climb, stoop, walk, and lift for long periods
  • Willingness to work in special hospital areas such as surgery or intensive care units
  • Ability to handle hazardous and combustible chemicals safely
  • Awareness of infectious disease control

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Perform cleaning duties including dry and wet mopping, waste removal, wall and window washing and floor care procedures
  • Operate mechanical cleaning equipment such as buffers and vacuum cleaners
  • Maintain a sanitary, attractive, and orderly condition in assigned areas of the hospital
  • Adapt to changing priorities and respond to emergencies promptly
  • Communicate effectively in English with patients, doctors, staff, and patient families
  • Work in various hospital areas including Surgery, Labor and Delivery, Nursery, Isolation Rooms or Intensive Care Units
  • Comply with safety protocols when exposed to hazardous, combustible chemicals and infectious diseases
