The hiring family is a warm and down-to-earth household of three members, consisting of two adults and a teenager, located in the scenic Santa Cruz Mountains just five minutes from Route 17. This family's home spans approximately 3,000 square feet and is nestled in a peaceful, pet-filled environment surrounded by natural beauty. Job Requirements
- Must not have any pet allergies
- Comfortable working around large dogs and multiple animals at once
- Ability to bend, lift, and carry up to 25 lbs
- Comfortable being on your feet for extended periods
- Ability to safely handle cleaning tasks in a multi-level home
- Available Monday to Friday, approximately 8/9 AM to 4/5 PM
- Local to the Santa Cruz Mountains area
- Willing to undergo background check
- Must have reliable transportation
- English proficiency
Job Qualifications
- Previous experience working in private homes
- Genuine love for animals-comfortable caring for cats, dogs, and birds
- Organized, proactive, and reliable
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Must speak and understand English well
- Tech-friendly (comfortable using text/email)
- Must have a car and a valid driver’s license
- Must be willing to undergo an in-depth background investigation and have positive references from former employers
- Non-smoker/vaper
Job Duties
- Full-scale housekeeping: cleaning, vacuuming, dusting, tidying, and maintaining all areas of the home
- Laundry: washing, folding, ironing, and putting clothes away neatly
- Household organization: maintaining order in closets, kitchen, and storage spaces
- Daily rhythm management-helping the household run efficiently and stay on track
- Cleaning litter boxes every 1-2 days
- Cleaning parrot cages weekly
- Feeding and light pet care
- Occasional dog assistance (walks or watching them briefly)
- Light meal prep (vegan/pescatarian-friendly)
- Occasional errands or family assistance
- Helping maintain the flow of household supplies
