Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in custodial or cleaning services preferred
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting and moving objects up to 50 pounds
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Good communication skills
- Must pass background checks including SBI and DMV records
- Completion of two-step tuberculin skin test
- Knowledge of safety and sanitation procedures
- Ability to work cooperatively with diverse staff and residents
Job Qualifications
- Must be able to read, write, understand and follow directions
- Must be able to lift, push or pull minimum of 50 pounds
- Must have no substantiated findings on the NC Personnel Registry or Health Care Program
- Must have a clear SBI and DMV record and maintain during employment
- Must have two-step tuberculin skin test (first test prior to hire, second within two weeks)
Job Duties
- General cleaning of entire community including floors, furniture, vacuuming and dusting, bathroom and laundry facilities, baseboards, door facings and walls to maintain sanitation grade of 90 or above
- Place appropriate warning signs during floor cleaning to assure safety
- Maintain supplies of soap, paper towels and tissue in appropriate areas
- Empty and clean trash cans regularly
- Eliminate unpleasant odors at all times
- Take inventory and purchase chemical and housekeeping supplies within budget
- Ensure purchase receipts are signed and kept on file for administration
- Help maintain residents' self-respect, dignity and safety
- Work cooperatively with staff and relate favorably to residents and their families
- Adhere to confidentiality policies for resident information
- Comply with accident, fire safety, OSHA and emergency standards
- Assist residents in exercising Adult Care Home Residents' Bill of Rights
- Carefully treat equipment and utilize supplies
- Follow all home and employee policies
- Participate in job-related continuing education
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Secure and supervise cleaning supplies when in use and keep them locked when not in use
