Job Requirements

  • Previous custodial experience in healthcare or hospitality preferred
  • Ability to comprehend and follow detailed instructions in English
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Willingness to work varying shifts
  • Ability to use motorized cleaning equipment safely

Job Duties

  • Cleans and disinfects patient rooms, beds, gurneys, examination tables, restrooms, offices, and common hospital areas to established standards
  • Performs terminal cleaning of patient rooms and special procedure rooms according to procedures
  • Collects and disposes of regular trash, regulated medical waste, and recyclables
  • Collects and removes soiled linen into appropriate bins
  • Replenishes supplies such as hand soap and hand sanitizer as needed
  • Dust mops floors using microfiber per standard procedures
  • Wet mops floors with disinfectant following standard operating procedures
  • Dusts and polishes fixtures, furniture, walls, air vents, handrails, blinds, windows, and sills
  • Handles cleaning chemicals safely using personal protective equipment
  • Performs floor care activities like buffing, stripping, and refinishing when trained
  • Delivers and documents linen according to hospital par level policies
  • Reports conditions requiring maintenance to supervisor
  • Performs other duties as assigned
