Job Requirements
- Minimum eleventh (11th) grade education
- Prior housekeeping experience in a skilled nursing facility is preferred but not required
- Ability to operate housekeeping equipment safely
- Knowledge and adherence to infection control and safety procedures
- Ability to maintain privacy and dignity of guests
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills
- Availability to work flexible shifts as required
Job Qualifications
- An eleventh (11th) grade education
- Prior housekeeping experience in a skilled nursing facility setting is preferable
- Ability to operate mechanical cleaning equipment
- Knowledge of infection control practices
- Ability to interact with guests in a respectful and caring manner
- Effective communication skills
- Willingness to assist with training new staff and participate in team meetings
Job Duties
- Cleans and sanitizes guest rooms, offices, hallways and other areas inside the facility as well as outside and the entire property
- Operates mechanical floor cleaners, buffers, vacuums, snow blowers and related housekeeping equipment
- Cleans vents, fan fixtures, top of windows, doorframes and other high areas using a ladder
- Performs terminal cleaning procedures of guest rooms and prepares rooms for new occupants
- Follows isolation procedures when cleaning isolation rooms
- Assures that established infection control and standard precaution practices are maintained at all times
- Reports all hazardous conditions, damaged equipment and supply issues to the supervisor
- Maintains the comfort, privacy and dignity of guests and interacts with them in a manner that displays warmth, respect and promotes a caring environment
- Answers and responds to call lights promptly and courteously when working in guest care areas
- Assists with new admissions, re-admissions and the transfer of guests to different rooms within the facility
- Assists with training of new staff
- Communicates and interacts effectively and tactfully with guests, visitors, families, peers and supervisors
- Attends and participates in departmental meetings and in-services as directed
