Job Requirements

  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
  • American citizen or Green Card holder
  • Willing and able to work a minimum of 12 hours per day, for 7 days a week, up to 28 weeks
  • Able to meet moderate physical demands including lifting, bending, climbing, and extended standing or walking
  • Must pass pre-employment drug test including marijuana and other controlled substances
  • Must adhere to grooming standards including limitations on visible tattoos and piercings
  • Positive attitude with the ability to work well under pressure
  • Strong commitment to safety and guest service
  • Able to follow emergency and safety functions as required onboard
  • This is a temporary employment position not to exceed 28 weeks
  • Consumption of alcohol is strictly prohibited while on duty

Job Duties

  • Responsible for creating and maintaining an environment that is clean, safe, and attractive for guests
  • Prioritize comfort and cleanliness of staterooms, facilities, and common areas around the ship
  • Acknowledge guests by name and kindly take action for all housekeeping-related inquiries and service requests according to American Cruise Lines’ service standards
  • Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors
  • Organize inventory and stock linen and supplies
  • Carefully clean up spills with appropriate equipment and notify managers of necessary maintenance requests
  • Collect and dispose of trash
  • Properly clean upholstered furniture and lounge spaces
  • Create genuine relationships with guests and cater to all housekeeping requests efficiently
  • Greet guests upon embarkation and assist during special events including afternoon tea, snacks, and evening cocktail parties
