Job Qualifications

- experience as a housekeeper or janitor preferred but not required
- knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies

Job Duties
- sweep, mop, vacuum, buff, strip, wash, and shampoo floor surfaces
- clean and dust furniture, closets, telephone areas, and vents
- scour, polish, and sanitize sinks, counters, stainless steel surfaces, and waste receptacles
- empty waste receptacles and clean solid waste containers
- transport medical waste to outside storeroom as directed
- use room deodorizer as necessary
- ensure paper supplies are always available
- wash windows and walls as directed
- gather and return needed cleaning supplies and equipment daily
- follow OSHA standards for handling infectious waste
