Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior experience in housekeeping or related field preferred
  • ability to handle cleaning chemicals safely
  • ability to work flexible hours including holidays
  • physical stamina required for cleaning duties
  • basic reading and comprehension skills
  • ability to follow safety procedures and use protective equipment

Job Qualifications

  • prior housekeeping or janitorial experience beneficial
  • knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies

Job Duties

  • Clean all resident apartments, public areas, and offices including furnishings, fixtures, windows, blinds, and floors
  • follow work and cleaning schedules closely
  • report hazardous conditions or equipment promptly
  • remove trash and paper from all facility areas
  • maintain assigned work areas clean and free of hazards
  • use personal protective equipment when handling infectious or hazardous materials
  • mix and apply cleaning chemicals correctly
  • adhere to safety policies regarding chemical use and labeling
  • report missing or improperly labeled hazardous containers
  • follow infection control and universal precautions standards
  • clean resident furniture upon transfer or discharge
  • clean and stock housekeeping cart and ensure it is locked when unattended
  • launder mops and cleaning cloths after shifts
  • disinfect main bathtub daily
  • attend scheduled training and in-service sessions
  • work flexible hours including holidays and extra shifts as needed
  • support marketing efforts through positive interaction
  • communicate resident condition changes to supervisors
  • demonstrate tact with residents and visitors
  • maintain a safe environment for staff and residents
  • promote teamwork and a professional image
  • perform other duties as assigned by management
