Job Requirements

- Must possess independent decision-making ability
- Must be able to follow instructions accurately
- Ability to maintain housekeeping supplies and equipment
- Ability to conduct sanitation and safety inspections
- Knowledge of safety and infection control procedures
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 35 pounds
- Must maintain health standards and pass medical examinations
- Must have adequate sight and hearing or prosthetics
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members and residents

Job Duties
- Ensure that work and cleaning schedules are followed as closely as practical
- Report all accidents and incidents to supervisor promptly
- Coordinate daily housekeeping services with nursing services
- Adhere to all HIPAA requirements
- Participate in department meetings and training programs
- Follow established fire safety and safety precaution policies
- Use safety equipment when lifting or moving heavy items
- Maintain assigned work areas in a clean, safe, comfortable, and attractive condition
- Follow proper chemical mixing and handling procedures
- Report hazardous conditions or equipment
- Maintain infection control and universal precautions
- Dispose of refuse according to sanitation policies
- Coordinate isolation procedures with nursing service
- Ensure adequate housekeeping supplies are maintained
- Report lighting or equipment issues
- Assist in lifting heavy equipment and supplies
- Clean and store equipment properly
- Perform day-to-day housekeeping functions as assigned
- Clean and polish furnishings, fixtures, bathrooms, windows, floors, carpets, walls, hallways and elevators
- Turn in found articles to supervisor
- Communicate with personnel and visitors under all conditions
