Job Requirements
- Requires prior related experience preferred
- requires ability to maintain confidentiality
- requires ability to recognize differences in sound generated by equipment or machinery indicating operating problems or safety concerns
- requires ability to recognize differences in sound such as voices/noises that are loud and playful instead of angry and combative
- requires ability to adjust and operate electric-powered cleaning equipment
- requires ability to work with hand tools
- requires ability to perform tasks with consideration for residents in vicinity and ability to cooperate and work with other employees
- requires ability to move cleaning equipment using up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or 10 pounds continuously to move objects
- requires ability to walk, stand and sit for prolonged periods
- requires ability to turn, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, push, pull, handle, stand, walk over 75 percent of shift
- requires sufficient good health and no infectious disease or skin lesion during communicability
Job Qualifications
- In-depth understanding of all phases of housekeeping operations
- basic knowledge of house cleaning devices, such as brooms, mops, cleaning agents, and sanitation/cleaning requirements
- ability to read, write, and understand business documents written in English
- ability to communicate verbally with residents, families, visitors, and co-workers
- ability to make self clearly understood
- ability to understand and follow basic written and oral step-by-step instructions
- ability to move cleaning equipment throughout the facility daily
- commitment to Christian principles and teachings both professionally and personally
- ability to work under close supervision performing routine, standardized tasks
- sufficient good health to properly discharge duties
Job Duties
- Clean and service rooms, bathrooms, and offices
- dust furniture and equipment, clean windows and light globes
- empty trash baskets and replenish supplies
- clean and polish surfaces, including bathtubs, sinks, mirrors, and brass
- maintain floor cleanliness, including mopping, treating, vacuuming, and shampooing
- mix and dilute housekeeping chemicals according to instructions
- make minor repairs and adjustments, replace light bulbs, repair clogged sinks, commodes, or drains
- assist dietary unit as needed with set ups, clean up, policing spills during meals
- report equipment issues promptly and identify hazardous conditions
- observe and report resident symptoms, reactions, and changes
- perform general office tasks as required
- perform special assignments, projects, and other duties as required
