Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • prior experience in housekeeping or cleaning roles
  • ability to follow safety guidelines and protocols
  • physical ability to perform cleaning duties
  • excellent communication skills
  • ability to manage time effectively
  • ability to work independently and in a team
  • willingness to work rotating shifts

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • prior housekeeping or cleaning experience in a healthcare or long-term care facility preferred
  • ability to follow instructions and safety protocols
  • good physical stamina and ability to perform cleaning tasks
  • strong communication skills
  • positive attitude and customer service orientation

Job Duties

  • Maintain all public and common areas including lobby, restrooms, drinking fountains and floors
  • maintain the cleanliness of resident rooms and bathrooms
  • keep handrails clean and free of debris
  • clean and remove dust, dirt or food off walls, mirrors, windows, light fixtures, towel bars, towel dispensers
  • empty trash cans and replace liners
  • sweep and mop floors
  • utilize proper safety measures when cleaning including using caution signage and keeping supplies and chemicals out of reach of residents
  • use supplies and equipment safely by following user manual instructions
  • maintain housekeeping carts, equipment and storage areas in a safe, sanitary, clean and orderly manner
  • notify Director of Housekeeping or other management regarding resident safety issues or concerns
  • notify Director of Housekeeping when supplies need replenishing
  • demonstrate excellent customer skills and a positive attitude
  • demonstrate excellent time-management skills
  • ability to work independently or with a team
