Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • At least two years of prior experience in housekeeping
  • Prior housekeeping experience in a long-term care setting preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with effective verbal and written communication
  • Able to work effectively as a team member and independently
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational and time management skills
  • High self-initiative
  • Ability to accurately follow verbal and written instructions
  • Skilled at working with the elderly population in a courteous and friendly manner
  • Demonstrated patience and compassion
  • Knowledge of safe and appropriate use of cleaning supplies and equipment
  • Familiar with applicable computer software programs and office equipment
  • May require working beyond normal scheduled hours, on weekends, and in other positions as needed

Job Duties

  • Ensure all Housekeeping protocols and procedures are followed in accordance with established health, infection control, universal precautions, sanitation, industry standards, and facilities' appearance policies and regulations
  • Clean and provide sanitation to all private residences, healthcare units, and common areas to include dusting, polishing, mopping, vacuuming, trash removal, etc., in accordance with established health, hygiene, and appearance policies and regulations with priority established by management
  • Utilize good stewardship with inventory, supplies, and equipment
  • Report any shortages to management
  • Must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team effectively
