Job Requirements
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Ability to make independent decisions, follow instructions, and accept constructive criticism
- Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies and the general public
- Maintain care and use of supplies and equipment and appearance of housekeeping areas
- Perform regular inspections of resident rooms for sanitation, order and safety
- Willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel and handle residents based on their maturity level
- Ability to seek out and accept new housekeeping methods and incorporate them
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions concerning cleaning compounds and instructions
- Ability to communicate effectively about emergency situations
Job Qualifications
- No experience necessary, on-the-job training provided
- A minimum of one year experience in housekeeping in a nursing home or related medical facility preferred but not required
Job Duties
- Ensure residents' rooms are neat, clean and free from odor
- Wet mop floors daily
- Shampoo and extract carpets as per schedule
- Attend to spills immediately
- Empty trash liners and clean containers
- Clean bed and rails with disinfectant
- Clean all countertops, windowsills, bedside tables, furniture and over the bed
- Strip, seal and refinish floors as per schedule
- Clean floor edges and corners to prevent build-up
- Clean windows and mirrors
- Clean personal items, pictures, decorations, flowers, etc.
- Demonstrate correct safety techniques
- Contribute to effective communication and pleasant working conditions
- Complies with privacy practices and protects residents' health information
- Other duties assigned by managerial team
