Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Ability to provide housekeeping and laundry services meeting quality standards
  • Desire to work with seniors
  • Ability to respect resident privacy during cleaning
  • Ability to follow safety and infection control procedures
  • Ability to use and maintain cleaning equipment
  • Willingness to participate in required training
  • Ability to follow safety regulations and use protective equipment
  • Compliance with drug testing and health requirements as conditions of employment

Job Duties

  • Perform general housekeeping duties in resident suites, public areas, and support areas
  • Perform cleaning duties such as sweeping, dusting, mopping, vacuuming floors, rugs, carpets, and runners
  • Clean, sanitize, and polish lavatory, shower, and sink fixtures
  • Dust, wash, sponge mop, sanitize and hand shampoo furniture
  • Knock on residents and public restroom doors before entering
  • Maintain equipment and supplies in clean and orderly condition
  • Transport supplies including clean and soiled linen to appropriate storage and collection areas
  • Collect trash and maintain trash receptacles and collection areas
  • Collect, clean, and redistribute community laundry
  • Sort, wash, dry, fold, count, and stack linens
  • Inspect linens for wear and tear and handle damaged linens
  • Maintain commercial laundry area in clean and sanitary condition
  • Assist Care Managers and Department Coordinators with resident care
  • Practice positive resident relations and respond to resident requests
  • Review, read, notate, and initial Daily Log for resident information
  • Ensure cleaning chemicals are stored and locked
  • Keep equipment and cart hazards out of the way and in compliance with fire codes
  • Follow occupational health and safety regulations
  • Practice safety procedures including use of PPE, fire extinguishers, and SDS
  • Maintain equipment to avoid waste and accidents
  • Comply with infection control techniques and bio-hazard policies
  • Participate as team member and work towards team goals
  • Demonstrate Team Member Credo and Principles of Service
  • Contribute to engagement programs
  • Attend regular meetings and complete required training
  • Perform other duties as assigned
