Job Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- One year related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
- Physical ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear regularly
- Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl frequently
- Ability to climb or balance occasionally

Job Duties
- Follows established cleaning schedule
- Completes daily dusting, vacuuming, sweeping and mopping of all common areas
- Follows established schedule for deep cleaning of resident rooms
- Cleans administrative offices as scheduled
- Cleans and sanitizes bathrooms
- Cleans carpets and mops all floors upon request
- Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly environment for all residents
- Ensures and supports a dignified and caring atmosphere for residents, families, visitors, and associates
- Responds promptly and courteously to resident's, families, and visitors requests for assistance
- Speaks to/interacts with residents showing empathy, kindness, compassion, and respect
- Communicates effectively in a language that each resident is capable of understanding
- Maintains a safe and secure working environment free of objects/situations that could cause harm and/or falls to residents, families visitors and associates
- Practices good body mechanics and safe working habits
- Observes and reports safety hazards immediately to supervisor
- Provides assistance to associates when requested or required
- Knows, understands and follows established policy and procedures in emergency situations
- Is considered essential personnel during emergencies and/or inclement weather. Is required to report or remain at community until released by supervisor
- Works as a team player with other associates and management in accomplishing work assignments
- Always demonstrates a positive and respectful attitude about work issues, policies and procedures
- Complies with attendance and call off policy
- Attends and/or participates in trainings, in-service and mandatory meetings
- Wears clean and appropriate dress per established dress code policy
- Refrains from discussing resident issues with families and visitors and refers all inquiries to immediate nursing supervisor
- Knows, understands, and complies with HIPAA regulations
- Provides hands-on assistance when requested or needed by nursing staff while working in the community
- Participates in leisure activities provided to residents as described in the activity calendar
- Serves and assist residents in the dining room at breakfast, lunch and dinner daily
- Takes on special projects or assignments outside of regular duties willingly
- Performs all other reasonable duties as assigned or as requested
