This full-time position is within the Housekeeping and Laundry Department of a well-established healthcare or residential facility that prioritizes hygiene and a welcoming environment for its residents and guests. The department is essential to maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and overall appearance throughout the establishment, ensuring that all areas meet the highest standards of cleanliness. Job Requirements
- At least 18 years of age
- high school graduate or equivalent
- able to read, write and speak English
- physically healthy and strong enough to perform duties
- must have yearly TB test or chest x-ray
- must be familiar with basic housekeeping functions

Job Duties
- Receives assignments from Housekeeping Supervisor
- follows cleaning schedules daily, weekly and monthly as outlined for housekeeping department
- cleans assigned areas, furnishings, fixtures according to established housekeeping procedures
- cleans floors by dry mopping, wet mopping, sweeping and disinfecting when necessary
- performs emergency housekeeping where accidents occur
- cleans moveable and stationary furnishings and fixtures including dusting, spot cleaning or washing, disinfecting and polishing
- empties and cleans ashtrays
- empties, cleans and relines wastebaskets with appropriate trash bags
- inspects furnishings and fixtures for wear and reports to supervisor
- cleans bathrooms including resident, private and public restrooms
- washes windows, mirrors, walls and doors as scheduled
- replenishes bathroom supplies
- performs terminal cleaning duties in resident rooms upon discharge or transfer and prepares for new occupant
- cleans and rehanges curtains or drapes
- sends soiled linens to laundry
- reports observations concerning structural and equipment wear, defects and malfunctions to supervisor
- reports supply and equipment needs for replenishment
- assists with laundry when necessary
- performs other duties as directed by supervisor
