Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • prior experience in housekeeping or cleaning preferred but not required
  • ability to understand and follow instructions
  • physical ability to perform cleaning duties including lifting and standing for extended periods
  • effective communication skills
  • ability to work flexible hours including per-diem shifts
  • willingness to comply with infection control and safety guidelines

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred
  • ability to read, write and comprehend English
  • ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently
  • strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards
  • knowledge of cleaning protocols, infection control, fire prevention and safety measures in long-term care highly valued but not required
  • compassionate and empathetic nature
  • ability to work effectively in a team environment

Job Duties

  • Perform daily cleaning tasks including dusting, vacuuming, and sanitizing common areas and resident rooms
  • Ensure cleanliness and hygiene in bathrooms, kitchens, and common areas
  • Dispose of trash and waste
  • Monitor and restock cleaning supplies as needed
  • Collaborate with other staff members to maintain a safe and organized environment
  • Respond promptly to housekeeping requests from residents and staff
  • Operate cleaning equipment such as buffing machines and vacuums
