Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum one year of housekeeping experience
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing
- Ability to perform repetitive routine tasks
- Availability to work flexible hours including emergencies
- Willingness to adhere to safety guidelines and infection control protocols
- Ability to handle exposure to blood or bodily fluids according to OSHA and facility policies
Job Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent education preferred
- Minimum one year experience in housekeeping services required
- Experience working in a health care setting preferred
- Verbal and written communication skills necessary to interact effectively with staff, patients, family members, and the public
- Ability to perform routine repetitive tasks with frequent interruptions
- Willingness to work flexible hours including emergency situations
- Patient and tolerant attitude towards staff, patients, and visitors
Job Duties
- Responsible for daily cleaning of the facility including vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, polishing of fixtures and cleaning bathrooms
- Prepares rooms for incoming admissions and discharging patients by ensuring cleanliness and fresh bed linens and towels
- Dusts furniture, light fixtures, window sills, and other surfaces
- Empties trash containers daily
- Wet mops floors in patients' bathrooms regularly and mops all floors in lobbies, dining areas, nurse’s stations and other designated areas
- Reports any needed repairs such as leaky faucets, broken windows, or beds needing repair to manager immediately
- Checks vacant rooms daily to maintain freshness
- Participates in department meetings, in-services, morning bell and community meetings
- Checks cleaning cart and linen supply daily to monitor inventory
- Completes other housekeeping tasks as assigned by manager
- Follows instructions for use of germicidal solutions to clean
- Uses safety precautions in all housekeeping activities
- Performs deep cleaning duties as assigned
