Job Requirements

  • High school degree or equivalent preferred
  • six months of housekeeping or janitorial services preferred
  • ability to arrive to work on time when scheduled
  • ability to learn, follow and enforce cleanliness standards with exceptional attention to detail
  • physically able to move large objects such as carts, large bags of linen, ironing board
  • physically able to operate cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaners, brooms, spray bottles
  • strong customer service orientation
  • organization and time management skills
  • ability to read and recognize suite numbers
  • effective verbal and written communication skills
  • ability to operate in a seven-day per week, 24-hour per day business setting

Job Duties

  • Cleaning suites, rooms, and other areas as assigned
  • making beds, dusting, vacuuming, and washing windows/tracks
  • using vacuum cleaners and shampooers to clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies
  • wiping down counters, coffee tables, side tables, and other furniture
  • thoroughly cleaning bathrooms, showers, toilets, bathtubs, sinks, flooring, and countertops
  • removing all trash from rooms and emptying trash cans
  • replenishing or replacing supplies such as drinking glasses, linens, shower curtains, and bathroom items
  • maintaining maid cart supplies and equipment
  • reporting and logging lost and found items
  • greeting guests politely and promptly
  • responding to special guest requests and questions
  • providing information about hotel services and local attractions
  • returning items such as luggage carts, cribs, or linen bags to designated areas
  • reporting maintenance deficiencies, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries
  • following personal protective equipment requirements
  • following safety procedures and acting in emergency situations
  • maintaining a clean and professional uniform and appearance
  • ensuring a hospitable service atmosphere at all times
