Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous housekeeping experience
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to read and understand safety and operational documents
- Physical ability to perform cleaning tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds
- Willingness to work with a senior population
- Ability to follow safety protocols and maintain cleanliness standards
- Reliable and punctual
- Team player with courteous and respectful demeanor
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous housekeeping experience preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively speaking the primary language of the residents
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Interest in working with a senior population
- Courteous and friendly interaction with guests, residents, and staff
- Ability to stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms regularly
- Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl frequently
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Close vision and color vision abilities
Job Duties
- Performs cleaning duties according to schedule in assigned areas such as apartment homes, common areas, lounges and offices
- Sweeps, dusts, dust mops, and wet mops all floors and stairways
- Spot cleans and vacuums floors, rugs, carpets and runners
- Rotates runners in hallways and entryways
- Cleans, sanitizes, and polishes lavatory, shower and sink fixtures and facilities
- Stocks dispensers as necessary
- Scrubs bath and shower room tiles, woodwork, window frames, and sills
- Maintains equipment and materials needed to perform work in a clean and orderly condition
- Collects trash and refuse from work areas and places in designated pick-up areas
- Collects, cleans and redistributes community laundry
- Maintains commercial laundry in a clean, orderly and sanitary condition
- Ensures cleaning chemicals are stored and locked when not in use
- Keeps cords, carts, equipment and other hazards out of the way and in compliance with fire codes
- Reports needed repairs and supply and equipment needs to the Lead Housekeeper
- Performs other duties as assigned
