Job Requirements
- Prolonged periods of walking and/or standing
- ability to bend, stoop, reach and move light furniture
- ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- use of hand truck if lifting more than 35 pounds
- exposure to chemicals requiring personal protective equipment
- ability to work in air-conditioned environment with varying noise levels
- interact with residents, family members and staff in all conditions
- exposure to medical waste and occasionally unsanitary conditions and unpleasant odors
- ability to push/pull housekeeping cart, mop and bucket, vacuum and use floor equipment
- ability to climb ladders up to 6-8 feet
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma
- one to two years housekeeping experience preferred
- command of English strongly preferred
- knowledge of infection control policies
- knowledge of heavy equipment performance
Job Duties
- Clean member apartments according to written assignments
- stay in assigned areas and assist other associates as necessary or directed
- conduct 'flipper check'
- wash, dust, polish, vacuum and sweep all areas of the apartment
- clean sinks, tubs, showers and toilets according to prescribed sanitary standards
- clean mirrors and windows
- sort and wash laundry using machines
- empty and clean trash cans
- clean common areas according to written assignments
- clean mirrors, sinks and toilets in common area restrooms according to prescribed sanitary standards
- remove debris/trash from the front of the building, driveways, and all common areas inside or out
- wash, dust, polish, vacuum and sweep all areas of the lobby and commons area including the Front Desk and elevators
- empty ashtrays and urns
- periodically check and restock all supplies including toilet paper, soap and hand towels in common area restrooms
- arrange all cushions properly on lobby sofa
- clean assigned areas, furnishings, and fixtures according to established housekeeping procedures
- observe and report any maintenance issues
- listen and respond to resident, guest and staff requests and inquiries
- stock and clean storage area for equipment and supplies
- maintain all equipment used in performing duties
- follow safety and infection control procedures
- perform other housekeeping related tasks as assigned
