Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or GED preferred
  • previous housekeeping or laundry experience preferred
  • ability to work respectfully with seniors
  • willingness to comply with safety, health, and infection control policies
  • ability to follow community procedures and guidelines
  • availability to participate in required training and meetings
  • ability to pass pre-employment drug and health screenings
  • valid driver’s license if driving a Sunrise vehicle

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • perform general housekeeping duties in resident suites, public areas, and support areas
  • perform cleaning duties according to schedule including sweeping, dusting, mopping floors, spot cleaning and vacuuming
  • clean, sanitize, and polish lavatory, shower, and sink fixtures
  • dust, wash, sponge mop, sanitize and shampoo furniture
  • respect resident privacy by knocking before entering
  • maintain equipment and supplies in clean and orderly condition
  • transport supplies including linens to appropriate locations
  • collect and dispose of trash in a sanitary manner
  • collect, clean, and redistribute community laundry
  • sort, wash, dry, fold, count, and stack linens
  • inspect linens for wear and report damage
  • maintain clean and sanitary laundry area
  • assist Care Managers and Department Coordinators with resident care
  • practice positive resident relations and respond to requests
  • document resident information in Daily Log
  • ensure cleaning chemicals are stored securely
  • maintain compliance with safety and risk management protocols
  • practice safety procedures including PPE use
  • maintain equipment to prevent accidents and waste
  • comply with infection control techniques and policies
  • participate in team meetings and training
  • contribute to team success and engagement
