Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Ability to perform housekeeping and laundry tasks according to Sunrise quality standards
  • Desire to work with seniors
  • Ability to understand and follow safety and infection control policies
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Physical ability to perform cleaning and lifting tasks
  • Willingness to participate in required health screenings and testing
  • Ability to attend scheduled team meetings and training
  • Compliance with transportation safety policies if driving Sunrise vehicles

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Previous experience in housekeeping or laundry services in a senior living or residential environment desirable
  • Strong desire to work with seniors
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal
  • Competent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to follow instructions and work semi-independently
  • Good judgment and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and frequent interruptions
  • Commitment to maintaining safety and infection control standards
  • Basic knowledge of cleaning equipment and chemical handling

Job Duties

  • Perform general housekeeping duties in resident suites, public areas, and support areas
  • Perform scheduled cleaning duties including sweeping, dusting, mopping, vacuuming floors, rugs, and carpets
  • Clean, sanitize, and polish lavatory, shower, and sink fixtures
  • Dust, wash, sponge mop, and polish furniture and glass surfaces
  • Respect residents’ privacy by knocking before entering
  • Maintain and transport supplies and linens
  • Collect and dispose of trash maintaining sanitary conditions
  • Sort, wash, dry, fold, and stack linens following approved laundry procedures
  • Inspect linens and report damaged items
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of laundry area
  • Assist Care Managers with resident care as needed
  • Respond to resident requests and relay feedback
  • Review and document resident information daily
  • Ensure safe storage and handling of cleaning chemicals
  • Keep work areas free of hazards and in compliance with safety codes
  • Adhere to infection control and safety procedures
  • Participate in team meetings and training
  • Demonstrate adherence to Sunrise principles and values
  • Maintain required certifications and training
  • Perform other duties as assigned
