Job Requirements
- Related experience at a level necessary to accomplish the job
- ability to read, write and follow oral and written directions at a level necessary to accomplish the job
- must be able to relate positively and favorably to residents and families and to work cooperatively with other employees
- must maintain regular attendance
- must meet all local health regulations
- pass a post-employment physical exam if required
- ability to perform physical activities such as walking, standing, reaching, bending, crouching, grasping, climbing, pushing, pulling and lifting
- ability to work at a rapid pace for an entire shift
- ability to regularly lift or move objects weighing up to 40 pounds and move objects weighing over 50 pounds
- must be able to climb and maintain balance on ladders
- must have finger and hand dexterity sufficient to type, handle and manipulate instruments and operate departmental equipment
- have a working understanding of English and ability to read, write, understand and follow written and oral instructions
- ability to verbally communicate with residents and others
- ability to hear and respond to pages

Job Duties
- Clean resident rooms, offices, and common areas including vacuuming, mopping, polishing and wiping
- polish and straighten items in residents' rooms
- ensure residents' personal items are safeguarded
- clean up spills and soiled areas promptly
- ensure equipment and work areas are safe and follow procedures regarding cleaners and hazardous materials
- properly store equipment and supplies
- follow universal precautions, infection control, isolation, fire, safety, and sanitation procedures
- report any hazardous conditions and equipment
- report all incidents and accidents
- ensure cleaning schedules are followed and coordinate daily housekeeping services with other departments
- maintain equipment and supply carts and ensure adequate supplies are available
- ensure lighting is in proper working order and assist others in lifting as requested
- comply with company safety policies regarding employee safety, patient safety, fire, and life safety
- assist in evacuation of patients during emergency situations if required
- promote positive relationships with residents, visitors, and regulators
- adhere to code of conduct and business ethics
- participate in quality improvement activities
- perform other duties as assigned
- follow training and education procedures and provide guidance to other personnel
- be available for long hours, weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts as necessary
