Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous housekeeping or hospitality experience is preferred but not required
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members
  • Physical stamina and dexterity to perform manual tasks
  • Willingness to work long hours and maintain a professional appearance
  • Ability to follow safety protocols and ship policies
  • Must be able to work onboard for the full 28-week season

Job Qualifications

  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
  • Must be an American citizen or Green Card holder
  • Willing and able to work a minimum of 12 hours per day for 7 days a week for up to 28 weeks
  • Able to meet moderate physical demands including lifting, bending, climbing, and extended periods of standing or walking
  • Able to pass a pre-employment drug test including testing for marijuana and other controlled substances
  • Willing to comply with grooming standards regarding visible tattoos and piercings
  • Possess a positive attitude and ability to work well under pressure
  • Able to perform emergency and safety functions essential to the safe operation of the ship

Job Duties

  • Responsible for creating and maintaining an environment that is clean, safe, and attractive for our guests
  • Prioritizing comfort and cleanliness of staterooms, facilities, and common areas around the ship
  • Acknowledge guests by name and kindly take action for all housekeeping-related inquiries and service requests according to American Cruise Lines’ service standards
  • Vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping floors
  • Organizing inventory and stocking linen and supplies
  • Carefully cleaning up spills with appropriate equipment and notifying managers of necessary maintenance requests
  • Collecting and disposing of trash
  • Properly cleaning upholstered furniture and lounge spaces
  • Creating genuine relationships with our guests and catering to all housekeeping requests in an efficient manner
  • Greeting guests upon embarkation and helping during special events including afternoon tea, snacks, and evening cocktail parties
