Job Requirements

  • Age 18 or over or have proper work permit and authorization
  • Complete health screening and provide negative TB test results within the last 6 months or 7 days of employment
  • Background clearances as required by government regulations
  • Ability to use standard cleaning equipment
  • Able to stand for long periods, bend, kneel, stoop, push, pull, and perform repetitive motions
  • Able to lift over 40 pounds
  • Must be mobile and physically capable of job tasks
  • Compliance with federal and state regulations including HIPAA when applicable

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Prior housekeeping experience preferred
  • Ability to read, write and speak English
  • Ability to follow oral and written directions
  • Ability to interact effectively with people of different ages and backgrounds
  • Demonstrated superior customer service skills
  • Commitment to following safety procedures and use of personal protective equipment
  • Ability to maintain a positive and professional demeanor

Job Duties

  • Clean all resident apartments, common areas and offices of the property to assure the building is clean at all times
  • Ensure that all appropriate caution/safety signs are properly set up and posted prior to performing duties that could cause slips/falls or other safety risks and taken down when completed
  • Report any health, safety and/or sanitation concerns to supervisor including apartment repairs needing attention
  • Follow the cleaning schedules as closely as practical
  • Monitor and remove all trash and waste from inside areas of community to designated trash cans/areas
  • Keep work areas attractive and free of hazardous objects and put all equipment away promptly
  • Use all appropriate safety and protective equipment and supplies when handling hazardous waste and/or chemicals
  • Follow all established PPE policies when handling chemicals and cleaning including wearing gloves, masks, aprons
  • Follow all established techniques, procedures and policies for properly storing, using and mixing chemicals and for proper disposal of waste
  • Lock and control all housekeeping supplies and carts ensuring chemicals/hazardous materials are not left unattended or accessible to residents or visitors
  • Follow established policies governing the use of labels and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)
  • Assist in marketing the community by displaying a positive and professional image through actions and dress
  • Encourage teamwork through open communication with co-workers and other departments
  • Display tact and friendliness when dealing with residents, families, and guests
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors
