Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous housekeeping or hospitality experience preferred but not required
- Must be able to pass mandatory pre-employment drug testing including controlled substances
- Willingness to comply with safety and emergency training requirements
- Ability to work onboard a cruise ship for the duration of the contract
- Must not consume alcohol while employed onboard
- Ability to meet moderate physical demands
- Availability to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays
Job Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- American citizen or Green Card holder
- Willing and able to work a minimum of 12 hours daily for 7 days a week over a 28-week period
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, climbing, standing, and walking for extended periods
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage with guests
- Ability to work well under pressure and maintain a positive attitude
- Comfortable working in a team environment
- Willing to adhere to grooming standards including limitations on visible tattoos and piercings
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test
Job Duties
- Responsible for creating and maintaining an environment that is clean, safe, and attractive for guests
- Prioritize comfort and cleanliness of staterooms, facilities, and common areas around the ship
- Acknowledge guests by name and handle housekeeping-related inquiries and service requests in accordance with company standards
- Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors
- Organize inventory and stock linen and supplies
- Clean up spills using appropriate equipment and notify managers of maintenance needs
- Collect and dispose of trash properly
- Clean upholstered furniture and lounge spaces thoroughly
- Build genuine relationships with guests and efficiently address housekeeping requests
- Assist in welcoming guests during embarkation and support special events such as afternoon tea, snacks, and evening cocktail parties
