Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous housekeeping or hospitality experience preferred but not required
  • Must be able to pass mandatory pre-employment drug testing including controlled substances
  • Willingness to comply with safety and emergency training requirements
  • Ability to work onboard a cruise ship for the duration of the contract
  • Must not consume alcohol while employed onboard
  • Ability to meet moderate physical demands
  • Availability to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • American citizen or Green Card holder
  • Willing and able to work a minimum of 12 hours daily for 7 days a week over a 28-week period
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, climbing, standing, and walking for extended periods
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage with guests
  • Ability to work well under pressure and maintain a positive attitude
  • Comfortable working in a team environment
  • Willing to adhere to grooming standards including limitations on visible tattoos and piercings
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test

Job Duties

  • Responsible for creating and maintaining an environment that is clean, safe, and attractive for guests
  • Prioritize comfort and cleanliness of staterooms, facilities, and common areas around the ship
  • Acknowledge guests by name and handle housekeeping-related inquiries and service requests in accordance with company standards
  • Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors
  • Organize inventory and stock linen and supplies
  • Clean up spills using appropriate equipment and notify managers of maintenance needs
  • Collect and dispose of trash properly
  • Clean upholstered furniture and lounge spaces thoroughly
  • Build genuine relationships with guests and efficiently address housekeeping requests
  • Assist in welcoming guests during embarkation and support special events such as afternoon tea, snacks, and evening cocktail parties
