Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • previous housekeeping experience preferred
  • ability to operate cleaning machinery and equipment safely
  • knowledge of infection control practices and safety protocols
  • physical ability to perform cleaning tasks including lifting bending and standing for extended periods
  • attention to detail and reliability
  • ability to work independently and follow instructions

Job Qualifications

  • high school graduate or equivalent preferred
  • previous experience in housekeeping in commercial clinical or healthcare environment preferred

Job Duties

  • performs specific cleaning and custodial tasks in general upkeep sanitation and cleanliness of the facility
  • conducts daily cleaning including sweeping mopping vacuuming dusting polishing of fixtures general straightening and cleaning of bathrooms
  • cleans facility rooms baths laboratories offices and halls using buffers scrubbers sweepers and carpet cleaning equipment as necessary
  • washes bed frames brushes mattresses and remakes beds after patient discharge when applicable
  • keeps utility and storage rooms neat and orderly
  • operates commercial washers and dryers and launders soiled linens as directed
  • attends to infection control standards transports soiled linens to storage and distributes laundered items
  • sweeps scrubs waxes and polishes floors with attention to slip/fall risks
  • cleans rugs carpets upholstered furniture and draperies and dusts furniture and equipment
  • washes walls ceilings woodwork windows door panels and sills
  • empties wastebaskets transports trash and waste to disposal areas
  • disinfects rooms furniture fixtures equipment and supplies using germicides and proper processes
  • conducts daily checks of cleaning cart and linen supply closet and maintains adequate supplies
  • properly cleans and stores all equipment and supplies after each shift
  • follows standard/universal precautions and environmental safety guidelines including MSDS instructions
  • prepares rooms for meetings and arranges decorations and furniture for facility functions
