Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in housekeeping or hospitality preferred but not required
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests and crew
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
  • Willingness to follow company policies and safety procedures
  • Must be able to work extended hours and physically demanding tasks
  • Willingness to abstain from alcohol consumption while employed
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Must adhere to grooming and appearance standards

Job Qualifications

  • Must be at least eighteen years old
  • Must be an American citizen or Green Card holder
  • Ability to work a minimum of 12 hours per day for 7 days a week
  • Willingness to work for up to 28 weeks onboard
  • Ability to meet moderate physical demands including lifting, bending, climbing, and extended periods of standing or walking
  • Ability to maintain composure and positive attitude under pressure
  • Ability to follow grooming standards including limitations on visible tattoos and piercings
  • Must pass pre-employment drug test including marijuana and other substances
  • Must complete emergency and safety training relevant to shipboard work

Job Duties

  • Responsible for creating and maintaining an environment that is clean, safe, and attractive for guests
  • Prioritizing comfort and cleanliness of staterooms, facilities, and common areas around the ship
  • Acknowledge guests by name and kindly take action for all housekeeping-related inquiries and service requests according to service standards
  • Vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping floors
  • Organizing inventory and stocking linen and supplies
  • Carefully cleaning up spills with appropriate equipment and notifying managers of necessary maintenance requests
  • Collecting and disposing of trash
  • Properly cleaning upholstered furniture and lounge spaces
  • Creating genuine relationships with guests and catering to all housekeeping requests in an efficient manner
  • Greet guests upon embarkation and assist during special events such as afternoon tea, snacks, and evening cocktail parties
