This position is with the Facility Maintenance Team within the Business Operations Division of Cumberland County Department of Social Services, located in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Job Requirements
- Education and/or experience in housekeeping work related to the job
- High school diploma or equivalency preferred
- One year of custodial maintenance experience preferred
- Ability to operate motor vehicles with a valid North Carolina driver's license
- Pass drug testing as per county policy
- Pass law enforcement background check including fingerprinting
- Ability to assist in emergency and disaster situations
- Adherence to strict dress code policy including guidelines on tattoos and body piercings
Job Qualifications
- Education and/or experience in housekeeping work related to the job
- Ability to operate and clean custodial power equipment safely
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to follow schedules and manage time effectively
- Ability to observe and report maintenance, repairs, and supplies needs
- Ability to communicate effectively and courteously
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships
- Knowledge of cleaning specifications for public or commercial buildings
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
Job Duties
- Ensure doors are locked and security measures are followed
- Clean and service assigned areas daily including rooms, halls, and stairways
- Sweep, vacuum, mop, scrub, wax, buff floors, and shampoo carpets as needed
- Clean restrooms and replenish supplies
- Empty and clean waste receptacles
- Dispose of trash properly
- Wash walls, windows, shelves, mirrors, and horizontal surfaces
- Pick up trash from grounds and parking areas
- Dust, wash, and polish furniture and woodwork
- Replenish supplies of paper, soap, and cleaning materials
- Report needed supplies, equipment, or repairs
- Clean and maintain power equipment and cleaning tools
- Remove stains from various surfaces using appropriate chemicals
- Deliver waste materials for recycling when assigned
- Move furniture
- Perform other related duties as assigned
