Eastern Plumas Health Care is a small, non-profit, critical access hospital dedicated to serving the communities of Plumas County since 1971. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- ability to read, write and follow simple verbal instructions
- six months experience with similar work preferred but not essential
- knowledge of cleaning devices such as brooms, mops, and rags
- alertness to workplace hazards
- familiarity with MSDS sheets
- understanding of Title 8 Life Safety regulations
- physical ability to perform repetitive bending, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling and crouching
- ability to lift up to 40 pounds and push at least 50 pounds on wheels
- ability to climb a ladder occasionally
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Clean/disinfect patient, employee and public restrooms appropriately
- mop floors of assigned areas in accordance with standard procedure
- clean/disinfect patient rooms appropriately
- properly use fluid/water extractor
- transport, store and/or dispose of bio-hazardous waste and sharp containers properly
- replace sharp containers when 3/4 full according to hospital guidelines
- demonstrate knowledge of proper color liners to use when patient is on isolation
- pick up and dispose of trash on a routine basis
- label all chemical containers and spray bottles properly and store them safely when not in use
- remove adhesives/tapes left on patient furniture or equipment and properly clean/disinfect patient furniture
- maintain and replace paper goods and hand sanitizers along with hand soap on all areas
- organize and clean assigned housekeeping cart
- maintain cleanliness and appropriate inventory level of housekeeping storage closet
- keep mop bucket and/or container clean
