Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience working with homeless or at-risk populations
- Ability to work independently during overnight shifts
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Physical ability to occasionally ascend or descend multiple flights of stairs
- Capability to frequently move equipment weighing up to 25 pounds
- Available to work weekend night shifts from 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM
- Willingness to adhere to all program policies and procedures
Job Qualifications
- Previous work with homeless individuals and/or families disabilities or other at-risk populations
- Ability to work alone and handle crises with good judgment adequate communication skills both written and oral
- Effective organizational and time management skills
- Basic computer literacy for logging and communication
- Strong interpersonal skills and empathy toward residents
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
Job Duties
- Manages the operations of the program during the day
- Responsible for admitting residents as they enter shelter with Heading Home and ensuring the appropriateness of each resident for placement at the Shelter
- Responsible for making supplies available including food for the resident’s snacks and lunches
- Reads and updates staff logs with any and all important information that occurs during their shift
- Maintains appropriate logs of evening and weekend activities
- Attends scheduled staff meetings
- Adheres to all agency and program policies procedures and rules
- Performs other tasks as assigned by Program Coordinator
