Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- two years of experience working with homeless or at-risk populations
- ability to work independently and make sound decisions in crisis situations
- strong verbal and written communication skills
- physical ability to ascend/descend stairs up to three or more sets
- frequently move equipment weighing up to 25 lbs
- able to remain stationary 50 percent of the time
Job Qualifications
- Two years of experience with homeless, disabilities and/or other disenfranchised groups preferred
- previous work with homeless individuals and/or families, disabilities or other at-risk populations
- ability to work alone and handle crises with good judgment
- adequate communication skills both written and oral
- capable of maintaining detailed logs and records
- familiarity with agency and program policies
Job Duties
- Manages the operations of the program during the day
- responsible for admitting residents as they enter shelter with Heading Home and ensuring appropriateness for placement
- responsible for making supplies available including food for residents' snacks and lunches
- reads and updates staff logs with all-important information occurring during the shift
- maintains appropriate logs of evening and weekend activities
- attends scheduled staff meetings
- adheres to all agency and program policies, procedures and rules
- performs other tasks as assigned by Program Coordinator
