Job Requirements

  • successful completion of Orange Grove Center required training and orientation
  • ability to lift in excess of 50 lbs
  • basic computer skills
  • strong oral and written communication skills
  • availability to work rotating schedule
  • willingness to attend required meetings and on-call responsibilities
  • knowledge of ICF/ID policies and regulations
  • physical ability to complete required physical examination

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • experience in managing residential care or related settings
  • knowledge of intellectual and developmental disabilities
  • strong leadership and communication skills
  • ability to train and develop staff
  • experience with budget management
  • familiarity with health and safety regulations
  • proficiency in basic computer skills
  • ability to work rotating schedules
  • certification in first aid and CPR preferred
  • experience in conflict resolution and teamwork facilitation

Job Duties

  • manage ICF/ID residence and perform other duties as a member of the management team
  • attend and participate in management meetings, individual support meetings, accreditation meetings, and surveys
  • enhance staff relationships through effective communication, teamwork, conflict resolution, and support
  • provide and model direct support including daily living assistance, community inclusion, family involvement, appropriate environment maintenance, transportation, and support plan implementation
  • plan and monitor programs by completing assessments, attending support plan meetings, monitoring progress, and training staff
  • manage personnel including hiring, firing, performance evaluation, scheduling, and ensuring proper staffing ratios
  • train and develop staff through in-service, orientation, arranging training sessions, and conducting monthly meetings
  • protect health and safety by reporting incidents, monitoring safety, practicing emergency procedures, conducting drills, responding to emergencies, and promoting consumer rights
  • manage finances including staffing, food, supply, medical budgets, client and petty cash funds
  • manage regulations, policies, and procedures implementing department regulations and center policies
  • perform general office work including paperwork and documentation
  • perform all other duties as assigned
