Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • associate's or bachelor's degree in human services preferred
  • minimum two years experience working with persons with developmental disabilities
  • supervisory experience required
  • valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
  • ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Pennsylvania child abuse clearance
  • criminal and fingerprint-based federal criminal history clearance
  • verification of no Medicaid/Medicare exclusion
  • flexible to work various shifts
  • able to respond to emergencies
  • proficient with technology
  • strong communication and leadership skills

Job Duties

  • Supervises the day-to-day operation of the home in compliance with regulations and agency standards
  • provides supervision and training to people with intellectual disabilities to promote growth
  • supervises lead staff and direct support professionals and ensures accountability
  • collaborates with Division Manager on disciplinary actions
  • recommends performance improvement plans, suspensions, and terminations
  • conducts weekly checks of service and medication books and audits
  • maintains professionalism and serves as role model for staff
  • coordinates and participates in direct support staff training and development
  • manages fiscal responsibilities including banking and household budgets
  • ensures timely and accurate submission of reports such as incident and seizure reports, activity calendars, and fire drills
  • completes employee performance evaluations
  • participates in individual planning processes
  • plans and executes quality leisure activities
  • maintains cleanliness, organization, and safety of home and vehicles
  • responds appropriately in emergencies and reports incidents
  • transports persons served to appointments and activities
  • communicates with families and external personnel
  • coordinates medical services with delegating nurse
  • oversees household shopping and supply monitoring
  • maintains updated emergency contact and regulatory information
  • monitors medication supplies and administration protocols
  • ensures completion of safety and maintenance reports
  • manages vehicle maintenance and repair schedules
  • establishes petty cash and individual fund accountability
  • initiates and follows up on maintenance requests
  • maintains program files
  • conducts monthly house meetings
  • uses technology to complete job duties
  • attends work regularly and participates in professional development
  • responds timely to internal and external customers
  • works cooperatively with all stakeholders
  • assumes additional duties as assigned
