Job Requirements
- Completion of 10th grade in high school
- Ability to follow federal, state, and local housekeeping standards
- Capability to perform physical tasks including lifting and extended periods of standing
- Willingness to assist in emergency procedures
- Availability to participate in departmental projects and complete necessary reports
- Ability to handle cleaning chemicals safely and follow infection control guidelines
- Good communication skills
- Team-oriented mindset
- Attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness and safety

Job Duties
- Stock carts with proper types and quantities of materials and equipment
- Assure that work assignment areas are clean and that equipment, tools, supplies, etc. are properly stored during work periods and before leaving
- Discard waste and trash into proper containers and reline receptacles with plastic liners
- Polish metal fixtures, including pay phone and water fountains
- Clean and sanitize public restrooms
- Pick up trash in front and back parking lots
- Turn in and/or report all lost and found items to supervisor
- Assist others in lifting heavy equipment, supplies, etc. as directed
- Report scarcity of housekeeping supplies
- Clean housekeeping equipment, carts, etc.
- Perform terminal cleaning procedures
- Participate and assist in departmental studies and projects as directed
- Assist with completion of appropriate forms and reports
- Perform emergency procedures such as Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Recognize and respond to the housekeeping needs of residents
- Perform general community housekeeping tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, washing, waxing
- Recognize and respond to containments and potentially infectious wastes, and handle according to appropriate guidelines
- Follow community guidelines relative to emergency procedures, especially fire prevention and the use of fire extinguishers
