Job Requirements
- Ability to frequently stand, bend, climb, kneel, and move about the facility
- Ability to carry, lift, or pull items weighing up to 75 pounds
- Regular use of commercial cleaning chemicals required
- Willingness to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Basic communication skills in English preferred
Job Qualifications
- Some previous housekeeping experience preferred
- Previous background from the extended stay industry preferred
- Ability to speak, read, and write fluent English preferred
- Other languages beneficial
- Basic reading, writing, and mathematical abilities preferred
Job Duties
- Deliver on the promise of Sonesta service in all interactions with guests and clients according to Sonesta G.U.E.S.T. standards
- Work with room attendants with heavy items such as mattresses and linens
- Deliver linens and other supplies to room attendants
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of floor closets and corridors including removing trash, wiping shelves and counters, sweeping, mopping and vacuuming floors, and removing non-floor closet items and storing appropriately
- Respond to guests' requests in a timely and efficient manner
- Clean other designated areas such as public restrooms, storage rooms, and public areas
- Report needed repairs or unsafe conditions to supervisor
- Respond to special requests, guest complaints, and deliver housekeeping or room supplies to achieve guest satisfaction
- Minimize waste of supplies and amenities within housekeeping areas
- Deliver lost and found items according to procedures
- Assist regularly with deep cleaning projects
- When assigned to laundry, monitor laundry supplies and equipment, operate washers and dryers following standards, receive and inspect soiled linens, fold and store clean linens, and report damages
- Promote teamwork and quality service through communication with other shifts and management
- Ensure compliance with health and safety laws
- Perform other duties as assigned
