Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in hotel or related field preferred
  • Flexible and long hours sometimes required
  • Ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, 50 pounds frequently and 20 pounds constantly
  • Ability to stand during entire shift
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to listen, understand, and clarify concerns
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions

Job Duties

  • Be attentive, friendly, helpful and courteous to all guests, managers and fellow employees
  • Walk assigned floors at beginning and end of shift to remove trays, trash, and/or linen and note any areas needing immediate cleaning
  • Use proper two-way radio etiquette when communicating with other employees
  • Complete daily checklist projects such as cleaning elevator lobbies, glass tables, furniture, ice machines/vending machines, elevator doors/frames, service landing/linen closets, stairwells, and polishing floors
  • Practice safe work habits to ensure safety of guests, employees and self
  • Handle lost and found items according to hotel standards
  • Turn in all keys and assignment sheets to Housekeeping at end of shift
  • Report maintenance issues to Housekeeping Manager
  • Assist with guestroom cleaning when needed
  • Pick up dirty linen or trash as needed
  • Collect all trash from service landings and dispose of it in outside dumpsters
  • Vacuum guest corridors
  • Assist Housekeeping with tasks like bedboards, roll-aways, and flipping beds
  • Deliver clean linen to assigned sections if applicable
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of Housekeeping office, linen rooms, storage closets and stairwells
  • Ensure overall guest satisfaction.
