Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous housekeeping experience preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Physical stamina for prolonged standing, bending, and lifting
- Ability to handle up to 75 pounds regularly
- Willingness to work various shifts including weekends and holidays
- Ability to use commercial cleaning chemicals safely
- Reliable and punctual work ethic
Job Qualifications
- Some previous housekeeping experience preferred
- Previous background from extended stay industry preferred
- Ability to speak, read, and write fluent English preferred
- Basic reading, writing and mathematical abilities preferred
- Ability to stand, bend, climb, kneel, and move throughout the facility frequently
- Capability to carry, lift, or pull items weighing up to 75 pounds
- Experience using commercial cleaning chemicals preferred
- Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
Job Duties
- Deliver on the promise of Sonesta service in all interactions with guests and clients according to the Sonesta G.U.E.S.T. standards
- Work with Room Attendants with heavy items such as mattresses and linens
- Deliver linens and other supplies to Room Attendants
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of floor closets and corridors including removing trash, wiping down shelves/counters, sweeping, moping, and/or vacuuming floors
- Respond to guests' requests in a timely and efficient manner
- Clean designated areas such as public restrooms, storage rooms, and other public spaces
- Report needed repairs or unsafe conditions to supervisor
- Respond to special requests, guest complaints, and delivery of housekeeping/room supplies to achieve guest satisfaction
- Minimize waste of supplies and amenities within housekeeping areas
- Deliver lost and found items according to established procedures
- Assist with deep cleaning projects regularly
- Monitor laundry supplies and equipment ensuring operational condition
- Operate washers and dryers according to hotel standards and guidelines
- Receive, inspect, fold, and store linens, reporting damages to supervisor
- Promote teamwork and quality service through communication and coordination
- Ensure compliance with health and safety laws and regulations
- Perform other duties as assigned
